At AMSM we are committed to ensure the health and safety of our employees in the course of duty and other persons on company premises and believe that an effective Occupational Health & Safety management system is critical to our overall business success. We are committed to continually improve OH&S Management and OH&S performance and require everyone’s commitment and co-operation to conduct our operation in such a way as to prevent injury or ill-health.
To realise these policy objectives, management is committed to:
- Promoting a culture of occupational health and safety awareness and responsibility, through leadership, consultation, communication and training, for direct employees, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Complying with all relevant Health & Safety Legislation and company regulations and where possible, improving on these requirements.
- Documenting, Implementing and Maintaining an externally certified Management System that meets the requirements of ISO 45001:2018.
- Providing adequate resources, including a management representative, and expert advisors where required, to fulfil the Company’s commitments.
- Identifying root causes and preventing recurrence by investigating all Occupational Health & Safety incidents and accidents and H & S Management System non-conformities.
- Establishing systems for the continual identification of hazards and the assessment of risks associated with the company’s operations and implementing reasonably practicable control measures.
- Encouraging and promoting health and safety initiatives for all employees and involving them in these initiatives through their participation in representative committees.
- Conducting regular reviews of the OH&S objectives defined in the H&S Terms of Reference, in order to monitor performance, and ensuring follow-up action aimed at continual improvement.

• In support of this, all employees are required to fulfil their legal duty to take reasonable care of themselves and other people who may be adversely affected by their actions, and to fully support the Company in the management of occupational health & safety.
